Rachèle Magloire is a filmmaker and producer. Born in Port-au-Prince (Haiti) in 1961, she grew up in Quebec. Upon her return to Haiti in 1987 (with a degree in communication), she worked as a reporter for the private television station Télé Haïti and collaborated with the weekly Haïti en marche published in Miami. In 1991, she worked briefly at the national television of Haiti, first as editor and then as director of information.

From 1991 to 1994, Magloire Rachèle worked at La Presse and Le Devoir in Montreal, as well as the TV magazine "Le Point" at Radio Canada. Since 1995, she directs television documentaries on social issues within the audiovisual production company, Lantern Productions, which she founded with cameraman and filmmaker Carl Lafontant. From January 2002 to January 2004, she worked in the Democratic Republic of Congo at the radio of the United Nations Mission (MONUC), Radio Okapi, national radio network founded to in collaboration with the Fondation Hirondelle, to promote freedom of expression. In 2004 she pursued producing and broadcasting, under Sinema Anba Zetwal (Cinema under the stars) produced by MWEM Foundation.

Rachèle Magloire est réalisatrice et productrice. Née à Port-au-Prince (Haïti) en 1961, elle a grandi au Québec. De retour en Haïti en 1987 (avec un diplôme en communication), elle travaille comme reporter à la station de télévision privée Télé Haïti et collabore à l'hebdomadaire Haïti en marche édité à Miami. En 1991, elle a fait une brève expérience à la télévision nationale d'Haïti, d'abord comme rédactrice en chef, puis comme directrice de l'information.

De 1991 à 1994, Rachèle Magloire collabore aux quotidiens La Presse et Le Devoir de Montréal, ainsi qu'au magazine télévisé "Le Point" à Radio Canada. Depuis 1995, elle réalise des documentaires télévisés sur des sujets de société au sein de Productions Fanal, compagnie de production audiovisuelle, qu'elle a fondé avec Carl Lafontant, caméraman et réalisateur. De janvier 2002 à janvier 2004, elle travaille en République démocratique du Congo au sein de la radio de la Mission des Nations Unies (MONUC), Radio Okapi, réseau national de radio fondée en collaboration avec la Fondation Hirondelle pour la liberté d'expression. Elle poursuit, en 2004, le travail de production ainsi que de diffusion, dans le cadre de Sinema Anba Zetwal (Cinéma sous les étoiles) produit par la Fondation MWÈM.

Chantal Regnault is French and has lived between Paris and New York since 1971. After studying literature, she turned definitively to photography when, in 1979 she discovered Haiti, which became her main location to live and research. For the past 25 years she has tirelessly photographed voodou and has exhibited in France, the US, London and Haiti. Among her exhibits on Haiti: Vodou (Cultural Centre Abbey Daoulas, France, 2003), Women of Haiti (Rebecca Hossack Gallery, London, 2002), Peasant Women of Haiti (National Museum, Port-au-Prince, 1998), Imaging Vodou's Spiritual Cargo (William Benton Art Museum, University of Connecticut), Sacred Arts of Haitian Vodou (UCLA Fowler Museum, Miami, New York, New Orleans), Haiti (October Gallery, London, 1995), Haiti, body and spirit, La Maison Française, New York University, 1993), Flesh of the policy / The spirit of Vodou (Atrium Gallery, University of Connecticut; Medgar Evers College, Brooklyn, New York; Diggs Gallery, Winston-Salem State University, North Carolina, 1992-1991) etc.

Chantal Regnault est française et vit entre Paris et New York depuis 1971. Après des études de littérature, elle se tourne définitivement vers la photographie lorsqu'en 1979 elle découvre Haïti, qui devient son principal lieu de vie et de recherche. Elle photographie inlassablement le vodou depuis 25 ans et a exposé en France, aux Etats-Unis, à Londres et en Haïti. Synopsis

Since 1996 and 2002 respectively, the United States and Canada conduct a systematic policy of repatriation of all foreign residents who have committed crimes on their soil. These range from violent crimes to simple convictions for driving while intoxicated or petty theft.

Deported follows these North American offenders as they return to their homeland: Haiti, a country they do not know and a hostile land for them.

Depuis 1996 et 2002, les États-Unis et dans une moindre mesure le Canada, mènent une politique systématique de rapatriement de tout résident étranger ayant commis un délit sur leur sol. Cela va des crimes de sang à de simples condamnations pour conduite en état d'ébriété ou de petits vols.

« Déportés » suit le retour en Haïti de ces hommes, délinquants nord-américains, expulsés vers leur pays: Haïti, un pays qu'ils ne connaissent pas et qui leur est hostile.
