The Africa Movie Academy Awards is the leading, most glamorous awards event that recognizes and rewards excellence in creativity on the continent of Africa. For many years, under the direction of its founder, astute filmmaker and veteran, Peace Anyiam-Osigwe, the AMA Awards that seeks to acknowledge the efforts of filmmakers, actors, directors, screenwriters, cinematographers, and everyone else involved in the process of filmmaking all over the continent of Africa has gone from an idea to the most coveted accolade amongst filmmakers and enthusiasts in the African film and movie community.

From the deserts of North Africa, to the beautiful plains and wildlife of East Africa, to the beaches and fountains in the South, and the Savannahs of West Africa, even the diaspora, the AMA Awards has penetrated into the most remote of communities, film industries and the moviemaking habitats of the entire continent, to find, acknowledge and reward the most beautiful stories and their delivery, as well as appreciate the efforts of the heroes who painstakingly tell African stories of triumph in the face of adversity, courage in the face of difficulty, and survival against all odds. For fourteen years and in partnership with media giants and other stakeholders on the continent, the AMA Awards has kept to its mantra and rewarded the Spirit of Excellence in Africans, both at home and abroad.

In continuation of this extremely laudable mandate, and in order to further entrench, promote and streamline its perception, the organizers of the AMA Awards have decided to consolidate on the gains thus far made by the AMAA brand by creating a guide for all the other stakeholders and brands that will be interacting with the creative and visual identity of the AMA Awards, even as Nominations and Calls for Entries open for the 15th edition of the AMA Awards, billed to hold in Nigeria, West Africa, in 2019.

Going forward, all individuals, companies, brands, media houses, designers, creators and creatives, etc., who wish to interact with the AMAA Visual Identity must follow a set of guidelines; anyone utilizing the AMAA identity (logos, fonts, color combinations, etc.,) in the creation of designs, banners, posters, video montages, and all other forms of visuals/creative, must stick to the prescribed directives as listed on the AMAA website; this is in order to ensure harmony, coordination, and also that the AMAA brand may be protected and secured.

Also, entries have officially opened for movies made in the space of time under review (November 2017 to December 2018) that will be in consideration for the AMA Awards in at least one of the twenty six (26) various categories available for consideration at the 15th edition of the AMA Awards. Entries can be made online here at www.bit.ly/AMAA2019 and are open from the 21st October 2018, and will close finally on the 26th January, 2019. Filmmakers, enthusiasts, stakeholders etc., who would like for their movies to be considered by the esteemed AMAA Academy for the 2019 AMA Awards so they can join the elite and prestigious group of AMAA awardees are encouraged to enter said movies using the link above.

As in previous years, the Africa Movie Academy Awards 2019, billed to hold in Nigeria, promises to be interesting and engrossing, as it celebrates excellence on the African Movie scene in the time under review.
