The purpose of the African Women in Cinema Blog is to provide a space to discuss diverse topics relating to African women in cinema--filmmakers, actors, producers, and all film professionals. The blog is a public forum of the Centre for the Study and Research of African Women in Cinema.

LUNAFEST Short Films by for, about Women 2016-2017 - Connecting women through film (USA) Call for entries – Midway deadline




LUNAFEST, a national festival of short films by, for and about women, will return to screens for its 16th year beginning in October 2016 - June 2017. LUNAFEST is seeking a diverse range of films which embody the unique, humorous, touching, and inspirational roles of women in our local, national and international communities. Past topics have included women's health, body image, sexuality, spirituality, sports, and cultural diversity. 

USA applicants: By, For and About Women
Films directed and/or produced by women are accepted for this category. FILMS MUST BE 20 MINUTES OR LESS.

International applicants: By, For and About Women
In order to qualify for this category the film MUST have been produced outside of USA, and directed and/or produced by women. All other films submitted to this category will be switched to the appropriate category. FILMS MUST BE 20 MINUTES OR LESS.
