“Coming from documentary filmmaking, I respect what I find. I simply looked at reality, and it gave me back what I wanted,” explains the Belgium-based Cameroonian filmmaker regarding Mambar Pierrette, selected for the 2023 Filmmakers’ Fortnight. After completing her studies at in Cameroon, she continued at INSAS in Brussels, where she made several other portraits (Chez Jolie Coiffure, Les Deux Visages d'une femme bamileké, Les Prières de Delphine).
