African women's films at Locarno Open Doors 2014


African women's classic and contemporary films will be featured at the Open Doors Screenings of the 67th Edition of the Locarno Film Festival (6-16 August). Open Doors in a non-competitive section of the Festival whose objective is to introduce the Festival audience to the cinematographic and cultural landscape of the chosen region.

This year Open Doors covers the following countries in Sub-Saharan Africa: Angola, Botswana, Cape Verde, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Lesotho, Liberia, Malawi, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, São Tomé and Príncipe, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe.
